Two deadly enemies play cat-and-mouse across L.A., one cop - one serial killer .

One’s a violent schizophrenic who hears voices – the other’s a serial killer!

LAPD detective Spooky Jackson, a serial killer specialist, is recalled to duty, after the re-emergence of his nemesis known as the Hangman. He’d caught him before, but he’d slipped through the net as Spooky had played-it-by-the-book, a philosophy he no longer adheres to, hence the suspension.

He’s reinstated on the understanding that he is partnered up. He’s vehemently against it, especially as all of his previous partners have died – one of the reasons he’s called Spooky, but upon meeting the feisty and spirited Mia he relents.

He has an enviable record of catching serial killers, as he has an ability to get under their skin, and feels what they feel which tends to creep out his colleagues, another reason they call him Spooky - that and the fact he hears voices.

Although the hanged victim has had her face peeled off Spooky recognizes her as an ex-girlfriend and with a sinking dread realizes that this time it’s personal . . .

Much to Spooky’s annoyance he is partnered with John-James W. McCarthy, an uptight, ivy-league straight arrow, who he clashes constantly with his relentless criticizing over his unconventional methods in police detection.

They chased the elusive serial killer, known as the Master, due to a few rare eye-witnesses confirming that he was completely covered from head to foot in hair, however the Master appears to vanish into thin air.
